altThe Hope Heart Institute has a 50-year history of revolutionary medical advances and educational curricula that make heart disease - America's No. 1 cause of death - more treatable, beatable, and preventable. We are a Bellevue, Washington-based 501(c)(3) non-profit.

Our Mission
The mission of the Hope Heart Institute is serving humanity through cardiovascular research and education. We are dedicated to preventing and treating heart and blood vessel disease, and to improving the physical, emotional and spiritual quality of life for all at risk of - or affected by - cardiovascular disease.

Our Values

Integrity: Integrity in our research and education methods provides a basis for honest processes and outcomes.  We value ethical conduct in our professional, business and medical interactions.

Innovation: We strive for excellence and are willing to take risks to make our vision a reality.  We, along with our partners, take an innovative approach to prevention, research, education and improving health.

Hope: We remain steadfast in our commitment to prevent premature death from cardiovascular diseases.  We bring enthusiasm to our mission and offer hope that the burdens of heart disease can and will be minimized.

Compassion: We take into account the circumstances, emotions and needs of others while striving to make a difference in people’s lives.  Our compassion leads us to serve communities who are at risk of, or affected by cardiovascular disease.

Collaboration: We bring together individuals, institutions and organizations that support our common vision and values.  We will have a greater impact through the leveraged power of shared ideas, resources and best practices.

Respect: We foster trust through valuing a diversity of perspectives.  We acknowledge that there are different viewpoints and that each individual brings their own history, knowledge and contributions to the organization.  We treat individuals and organizations how we would like to be treated.

Passion: Passion is the force that drives us forward.  We are intensely dedicated to our mission of preventing and treating cardiovascular disease.

Balance: We seek to create a balance of time and effort between our organization and donors; research and education; colleagues and self; and work and family.

Our Vision

By the year 2020 The Hope will be a world leader in fighting the burden and impact of cardiovascular disease and stroke so that it’s no longer the number one killer on the planet.  By the year 2020 The Hope education programs will be a national standard for health promotion and prevention of cardiovascular disease.  By the year 2020 The Hope, as an organization, will be a nationally recognized model of cardiovascular research, education, board governance and employment.  By the year 2020 The Hope will develop state of the art research programs in partnerships with major research centers and organizations around the world.  Lastly, The Hope will be invited to play a role in the elimination and prevention of cardiovascular and related disease in the global community.
